From OceanWiki_EN

Jump to: navigation, search

This is a self-contained instrument that can be moored in the sea and records ocean current, water temperature, and conductivity of the water.

The Recording Current Meter RCM 7 consists of a recording unit, containing all sensors, equipped with a rod, that permits the instrument to swing freely and align with the current.

Self balancing bridge with sequential measuring of 6 channels (Reference, Temperature, Conductivity (optional), Pressure (optional), Direction and Speed). 10-bit binary word for each channel.

Title Value
Temperature - Selectable Ranges: Low Range: -2.46 to 21.48° C

Wide Range: -0.34 to 32.17° C High Range: 10.08 to 36.04° C Resolution: 0.1% of selected range Accuracy: ± 0.05° C

Conductivity (optional) Range: 0 to 74 mmho/ccm

Resolution: 0.1% of range Accuracy: + .0.1 of range

Direction Sensor Type: Magnetic compass with needle clamped onto potentiometer ring.

Resolution: 0.35° Accuracy: +5° for speeds from 5 to 100 cm/s. + 7.5° for current speeds 2.5 to 5 and 100 to 200 cm/s.

Speed Sensor Type: Rotor with magnetic coupling

Range: 2 to 295 cm/s Accuracy: + 1 cm/s or +2% of actual speed, whichever is greater.
